Sweet Basil Anytime Sauce

This basil sauce is my go to sauce for practically everything. What’s great about this sauce is that it firms up when baked in the oven or stays silky smooth when topping your favourite salad. Excuse the dairy and replace it with this fresh tasting pizza topping or salad dressing.

Prep Time: 7 minutes

Ingredients:
  • 2 x med garlic cloves
  • A bunch fresh basil
  • 350 grams of firm organic tofu
  • 3 3/4 cups water
  • 1/4 Brags or Brags alternative
  • Love

This is a simple dairy free alternative for a creamy salad dressing, pizza toppings or even tacos. This one I enjoy keeping ready to use in my fridge for almost anything.

If you have a Vitamix great but if not any blender will do. First off add your 3 3/4 cup water and 1/4 cup Brags to the blender.

Next, break up the block of firm organic tofu and place in a blender followed by all the other ingredients. Pulse the ingredients until slightly crumbly then continue to blend until smooth.

It’s that simple. Add salt to taste. What I love about this sauce is that it firms up in the oven or stays smooth on your salad.

Some blenders may want you to do this in stages. Blend tofu first and slowly add ingredients to get a perfectly smooth sauce.
